Interactive Map of Businesses in Bishmizzine
While we continue to call Bishmizzine a “village” – it is quite amazing how many businesses exist within its borders. One of the services of the Bishmizzine Heritage Initiative website is to have an interactive map of the businesses in the village which provides information about their names, products, locations, and hours.
There are many objectives for this map:
- Acquainting people with the different businesses in the village so they know they don't have to leave the village for a lot of goods and services.
- Giving people in the village the information to make it easier for them to patronize these businesses.
- Helping businesses in the village succeed.
- Helping people in the village and the broader Koura have an income that allows them to stay in the country rather than assume that the only answer to their economic problems is to emigrate.
- Giving people pride in the diversity of businesses in the village.
- Giving the village a stronger tax base, assuming that these businesses pay taxes to the municipality.
- Encouraging others in the village to establish their own businesses here.
We are looking for a new person to complete the map of the businesses in Bishmizzine. We now have 21 businesses listed, but there are many more that still need to be added. Please contact us if you are interested (heritage@bishmizzine.com)
